Eyebrows frame the shape of your face so they are important when creating a polished makeup look. Thick or thin, plucked or grown-out, no matter your preference, the style you choose creates a defining frame around your features. I’m going to show you how I get the perfect brow.
Where should your brows start?
Take a makeup brush or brow pencil, look directly into a mirror, and hold the brush straight up and down, parallel with the length of your nose, resting it where your nostril begins. Follow the line of the brush up, and where it intersects with your brow. That should be the starting point of your brow.
Where should the arch of your brows be?
The arch of your brow should be where the brush lines up with the edge of your nose and the center of your pupil. This should be the highest point of your brow.
Where should your brows end?
To find the end point of your brow, take the same brush, and again, looking directly into a mirror, hold the brush at a diagonal, with the lower edge touching the outside of one nostril, and the opposite end lining up with the outer corner of your eye.
Filling In Your Brows
I like to use a brow comb and brush all of my brow hairs in a downward motion. This will show you where your brow hairs are sparse and where they need to be filled in. I like to use either Senegence Moca Java Shadowsense or Rustic Brown Shadowsense to fill in my brows. This is actually a liquid eyeshadow, but I love using it for multiple purposes. It’s my ride or die!
I can’t decide which color I like the best because I feel like they both work for me, so I go with whichever I’m in the mood for. In these photos, I’m wearing Moca Java. I apply this with an angled brush before brushing my brow hair up. After I have my brows filled in, I take the brow comb and brush the hairs back up into place. This makes them look really natural. #gamechanger!
Then, I use this Anastasia Clear Brow Gel to brush my brows straight up.
Growth
Use castor oil to encourage growth. I use this castor oil on my brows every night after I remove my makeup to help the hair grow.
Find a pro you can trust.
I feel like this can make all the difference. Go to a brow pro consistently to whip your brows into shape. I love Audrey at Waxed Body Bar and I go to her every 4-8 weeks to get my brows in tip-top shape. If you’re local to OKC, I highly recommend her!
I hope you enjoyed this post on getting the perfect brow.
