I travel to the Dallas area a lot for work and I’ve found the CUTEST little boutique hotel there, so I had to bring my family. They loved it as much as I do! If you ever have a hankerin’ to go to Dallas/Irving, I highly recommend the Texican Court Hotel. The staff is always super nice and the rooms have the most adorable details-one of my favorites being the full sized bright orange SMEG refrigerator in each room that is fully stocked. So fun!

The girls loved the matching robes

The hotel is set up like an old school motor court where you enter your room from the exterior of the building. All of the doors to the rooms are pink and there are rocking chairs outside of each room, so you can sit out on the porch and relax.

How adorable are these pink doors and rocking chairs?

Such fun pendant lights on either side of the bed and a sliding bathroom barn door.
Love this bathroom floor!

This is the life
How sweet of the staff to drop off this sweet note and delicious treat! It’s touches like this that go a long way with me.

The Two Mules Cantina restaurant onsite has good tex-mex food and on some evenings they have live music. There is also a Tequila Bar. I’m not much of a drinker so I haven’t checked it out yet, but it looks like a nice cozy place.

Included with your stay at the Texican Court Hotel is a continental breakfast, shuttle service, complimentary beverage upon check-in, bicycles, etc. It’s in a great new entertainment area across the street from the Irving Convention Center and Toyota Music Factory and within walking distance to some great restaurants.

Restaurants

The Dallas area also has tons of great restaurants! Here are just a few of my faves:

If you like fried chicken, you must go to Babe’s. So, so good! It’s all family style homemade cooking. The fried chicken is to die for and the green beans are probably the best I’ve ever had!

Cane Rosso serves wood-fired pizza that is really good. We also love their Zucchini and Artichoke Fritters, Crispy Brussels, Fried Nuggz, and pastas. There are several locations in the Dallas area, but we like to go to the one in Carrollton. There is a cute little ice cream spot next door called Cow Tipping Creamery. I don’t like ice cream so I’m out on that, but Scott and the girls like to go there for a sweet treat after dinner.

The Henry -Love the food and the décor here!

Snooze A.M. Eatery-I love coming here for breakfast/brunch. There are a few locations in the Dallas area.

Twisted Root-If you’re in the mood for a burger.

Gloria’s -If you are craving Latin cuisine. I love the Ceviche Tostadas! And it’s within walking distance of Texican Court.

Lupe Tortilla-My fave here are the beef fajitas. They are marinated in lime juice and are different than any I’ve ever had-soooo good! I’m normally more of a chicken fajita girl, but here you have to get the beef.

Mesa Mexican Cuisine-This is in Grapevine, TX and has good Mexican cuisine.

Mi Cocina-Several locations

The Ranch-Irving, TX and really good food. I recommend the black-eyed pea hummus for an appetizer.

I’ll stop here, but clearly I love food, and TX has so many great restaurant choices that I can’t list them all. If there is a type of food that you want to know about, let me know, and I’ll do my best to recommend something great!
