Beautiful views from Top of the Rock
Another view from Top of the Rock

We had such a great Spring Break near Branson, MO at Big Cedar Lodge. And what’s a trip to Big Cedar without stopping to eat at Lambert’s Café-where they throw rolls to you from across the restaurant. So fun! Come hungry because the portions are HUGE! It’s a tradition for us to always stop here on the way to Big Cedar.

Big Cedar Lodge is a beautiful resort on Table Rock Lake with the Ozark Mountains all around. It’s one of our favorite road trips. It’s only about 5 hours from OKC, so the drive isn’t bad at all, and there are tons of fun activities for the whole family.

Our Cabin

We had an amazing cabin with a full kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There was plenty of space to spread out, which is so nice!

Nice big kitchen

We basically had our own private pool because who wants to swim when it’s 46 degrees outside? Yep. My girls do! That’s a hard no for me. I was outside in a full-on parka while my girls splashed and had a blast in the pool and hot tub.

The girls swimming….brrrr!
Beautiful heated pool and hot tub

Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail

We did the Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail. You drive an electric cart that holds up to 4 people on a 2.5 mile nature trail, and you can make stops along the way to look at the breathtaking scenery.

We ate at Devil’s Pool Restaurant a couple of mornings. It was really good. I had a bowl while everyone else I was with had the buffet. They all really enjoyed it. (My breakfast bowl was delish too!)

Breakfast bowl with quinoa, bananas, and chocolate chips-Yum!

We played miniature golf and did a scavenger hunt at Big Cedar.

We also went into Branson and saw the show “Samson,” which was SO good. The girls loved it-we all did!

Some of our favorite restaurants in Branson:
Hook and Ladder Pizza Company
Cantina Laredo -This is a good Mexican restaurant in a fun area called Branson Landing, where they have cute shops and restaurants.
Danna’s Barbeque -Really good barbeque here.
Billy Gail’s -Good for breakfast, but be prepared for a really long wait. If you wait until around 11:30 or noon, the wait is usually less. Billy Gail’s has pancakes the size of your head!
Arnie’s Barn at Top Of The Rock (We love the view here more than we love the food-but it’s worth it to go once for the view.)
Hurts Donut Company for a delicious donut or apple fritter

The apple fritters are made for sharing…..or not
